Add a product with no inventory, no shipping and no returns to pack: page-turning thrillers, planned around the twist before a word is written.
ShadowPress turns a one-line idea into a planned, chapter-by-chapter draft of a psychological thriller or a kids' spooky book, using AI that can cost you nothing to start.

Dear marketplace seller,
If you sell on Amazon, Etsy or any of the big marketplaces, you already know the game. Find a product. List it. Fight for the keywords. Then watch a dozen lookalikes appear under your listing, cheaper, by the following month.
Physical products mean inventory, shipping and returns. Low-content books and printables avoid that, but they are among the easiest things in the world to copy, and the shelves are crowded with near-identical journals, planners and puzzle books.
So you have probably looked at fiction. Readers of thrillers and spooky kids' books read a lot, and they buy series. A story is not a template: nobody can clone your twist by changing the font.
And you have probably tried the obvious shortcut: open ChatGPT and ask it to "write a psychological thriller".
Here is what usually comes back: a promising first chapter, a middle where nothing happens, and an ending that arrives out of nowhere. Exactly the kind of book that earns one-star reviews saying "the twist made no sense".
It is not because AI cannot write sentences. It is because you asked it to write a book front to back with no plan. The authors who write page-turners do not work that way either.
What bestselling thriller authors do that a chat window does not
Read the big domestic thrillers of the last few years and you will notice the same machinery. Short chapters. Every chapter ends on a hook. Clues planted early that you only notice on the second read. A twist around four-fifths of the way through that makes you rethink everything before it.
R.L. Stine has said he decides how each Goosebumps book ends before he writes the first page. The monster has rules, the kid wins, the last line is a zinger.
That structure is not decoration. It is the product. Readers pay for the feeling of being fooled fairly.
So we built software that does the planning first, the way those authors do, and only then lets the AI write.
A chat window writes. ShadowPress plans, then writes.
Asking a chat window for a novel
- No plan exists before the prose starts.
- Nothing tracks which clues were planted, or checks they pay off.
- The ending is decided when the model reaches it.
- You copy and paste between chats to keep it going.
- Nothing holds the narrator's voice steady from chapter to chapter.
Planning it in ShadowPress
- Premise, twist architecture, cast and outline exist before chapter one.
- 12 to 15 clues and 5 to 7 red herrings are mapped, then audited.
- The twist positions and the final sting are fixed in advance.
- Every stage feeds the next automatically.
- A narrator voice sheet is sent with every chapter.
A book workspace that designs the twist before it writes a single chapter
ShadowPress runs in your browser. You open a book and it walks you through eight stages, one screen each, like an installer. Every stage saves its result as plain text you can edit, and every later stage reads your edited version, not the AI's first draft.
Five options, each with an anchor object, a reason the hero cannot leave, and scores.
Surface story, hidden story, three twists by percentage, one-page secret history.
True and false roles, plus the voice sheet every chapter follows.
Every chapter planned with its closing hook.
Fair-play check for thrillers, age-safety check for kids' books.
One click drafts every missing chapter. Edit or rewrite any of them.
Titles, blurbs, keywords. Part of the optional Publisher Pro.
Manuscript as TXT or Markdown, ready for the formatter you use.
Pick a shelf (domestic thriller, mystery and suspense, or Goosebumps-style kids' spooky), choose the reader age and length, type an idea or leave it blank, and work down the list. Every stage is plain text you can edit, and the next stage reads your edit.

What it looked like in our own test
We ran a short domestic thriller through the app on OpenRouter's free model router, which costs $0 per call. These are the times we measured on that run, not promises:
Times depend on the model and on how busy the free models are. Free models are rate-limited per minute and per day, and each request may be answered by a different model, so the voice can shift between chapters. For books you publish, a low-cost paid model gives a steadier result.

Inside ShadowPress you will discover
- The "anchor object" rule that makes a premise memorable in one line, and why vague dread never sells a book.
- How the engine writes two stories from the same events, the one readers believe and the one that is true, so your twist is fair instead of random.
- Where to place the midpoint twist, the main twist and the final sting, by percentage, and the seven mistakes that make readers feel cheated.
- The clue audit that checks a sharp reader could guess the ending at 60%, while most will not.
- The narrator voice sheet: five language habits and sample lines that keep a whole book sounding like one person.
- For kids' books, the scare ladder and safety check: no gore, adults never rescue, the child always wins, and the last line still gives a shiver.
- Why one in three cliffhangers in a kids' book should be a fake-out, and how the outline marks which ones.
- How to start with $0 of AI cost on the free model, and when it is worth switching to a paid one.
- How every stage stays editable, so the book is yours: change the twist and everything after it follows your change.
Who it is for, and who should skip it
It is for you if
- You sell on Amazon KDP, Etsy, Payhip, Gumroad or another marketplace and want a product that cannot be cloned overnight.
- You are willing to read and edit each book before it goes live.
- You want structure, not a blank chat box.
- You can create a free OpenRouter account. It takes about two minutes.
Skip it if
- You want books you can publish without reading them.
- You expect software to make sales for you.
- You write romance, literary fiction, non-fiction, journals or puzzle books: the engine only knows thriller and spooky structure.
- You need ready-to-upload EPUB or print files today: the core plan gives TXT and Markdown. Formatting is an optional upgrade.
Exactly what the core plan includes
- The 6-stage book engine: premise, twist architecture, cast, chapter outline, clue or safety audit, chapters
- 3 core genres, 2 age bands, English
- Write every chapter from the browser, one click per book
- Download the manuscript as TXT and Markdown, with no watermark or branding of ours
- Bring your own OpenRouter key: no credits, no monthly fee to us
- Genres: Domestic psychological thriller, Mystery & suspense, Kids spooky (Goosebumps-style). Reader ages: adult, and middle grade 9 to 12. Language: English.
What it does not do: it does not publish for you, does not design covers, and does not export EPUB or print files in the core plan. After you buy, you will be offered optional upgrades that add those things. You do not need any of them for the core app to work.
About AI disclosure: Amazon KDP asks whether a book contains AI-generated content, and Etsy has its own rules. Answer truthfully. We say it here because a product that hides this from you is not doing you a favour.
Everything you get today
our estimates, not old prices ↓
The values below are our own estimates of what each part would be worth on its own, with the reasoning beside each one. They are not a former price, and nothing has ever been sold at that total.

Premise generator, twist architecture, cast and narrator voice sheet, chapter-by-chapter outline with hooks, clue audit.
Why we value it at $97: it replaces the outlining work a story coach or a plotting course teaches you to do by hand, which usually takes days per book.
A separate ending-first system for ages 9 to 12: monster rules, scare ladder, and an age-safety check on every chapter.
Why we value it at $47: it is a second, different genre system, not a re-skin of the thriller one.
Writes each chapter against your outline, voice sheet and closing hook. One click writes every missing chapter.
Why we value it at $47: drafting is where AI saves the most hours.
The full thriller and kids' horror prompt systems run inside the app, with your earlier stages fed into every call automatically.
Why we value it at $27: it is comparable to buying two prompt packs, without the copy-paste between stages.
Start with OpenRouter's free models at $0, see an estimate before every book, switch to any paid model in one click.
Why we value it at $17: you can test the whole method without an AI subscription.
An estimate to show what is included, not a price anyone has paid.

Our 30-day "works as described" policy
If ShadowPress does not do what this page says it does, email us within 30 days. We will try to fix it first, because most problems are a missing login email or a key setting. If we cannot fix it, we refund you in full. That is the whole policy in plain words; the full text is on the refund page.
We do not refund because a book did not sell. Nobody can promise sales, and we will not pretend to.
Questions sellers ask
Do I need to pay for AI on top of the price?
Not to start. The app is set up to use OpenRouter's free model router, which costs $0. You need a free OpenRouter account and key. If you later choose a paid model for a steadier voice, OpenRouter bills you directly at that model's listed price, and the app shows an estimate before each book.
Can I sell the books?
Yes. The books you create are yours to publish under your own name or pen name. You are responsible for reviewing them, for their originality, and for following each marketplace's rules, including AI-disclosure rules.
Will the books be ready to publish without editing?
No, and you should not try. The structure is strong; the prose is a solid draft. Plan to read and edit every chapter.
Does it upload to Amazon or Etsy for me?
No. It produces the manuscript. You format and upload it yourself, with a tool such as Kindle Create or Word, or with the optional Publisher Pro upgrade.
Is it only English?
The core plan writes in English. More languages, genres and age bands are an optional upgrade offered after purchase.
How do I log in after buying?
There is no sign-up form. Your account is created when payment completes and the login is emailed to the address you paid with, normally within minutes. Check spam if you do not see it, or contact support.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. The price is one-time. The only optional ongoing cost is AI usage with OpenRouter, if you pick a paid model.
What if I need help?
A real person answers at ledau2022@gmail.com or through the support page, within 1 business day.
